New Vaquero front sight installation

Any ideas for the best way to install a front sight on a New Vaquero? My son has been practicing some "fanceywork" while learning to quickdraw and the front sight came off. I have seen some interesting suggestions on the internet. Is JB weld the solution?
thanks,

Send it back to Ruger and let them fix it right.

NO! JB weld is not the way to fix it. send it to Ruger so it can be done correctly.

I'd just go to a gunsmith and have him cut a dovetail

Depends on if you've lost the sight of course? If you have Brownells has them and it will get to you quicker than Ruger. Be sure to talk to one of their tech's first to make double sure you're getting the right blade for your barrel length and model etc. And if you're gun is stainless, Brownells has high force 44 silver solder and its corresponding "copper" flux that goes with it. They said a propane torch is all that's needed to do the solder job. I too was in the process of remounting a Super Redhawk front sight base after I had shortened the barrel. Best of luck. Smithy.

Thanks everyone.
It is stainless and I do have the sight, it just wiggled off. I appreciate the input.
