Just a note to others doing a similar barrel shortening. The standard Kit will not do the job as a SRH's barrel is larger than the 3/4" cutter sent. You'll also need a 1", 90 degree cutter to flush out the muzzle. Smithy.

I finally got around to taking out the Vaquero .44 Special for a test run. I can see a difference in the amount of leading, but I still get a little. No improvement in accuracy that I can see, but it was a limited test and I was shooting with a couplemof other guys.

I'll give it a more thoroug test and take along te .45 that started the whole experiment, and report back.
