gp100 hammer spring in Speed Six?

hi. I put the wolff reduced power mainspring and trigger return spring in my Speed Six and did a little polishing but the DA trigger pull is still pretty heavy. Seems i read somewhere about using the reduced power gp100 springs in a six series revolver. Anybody done this? Mike

Don't know about the hammer spring but the trigger return spring is a different design.

that's right....and i meant to ask if anybody has used the gp100 HAMMER spring in a Six series DA revolver. Just reread my post. The reduced power hammer spring(Wolff) i put in my gun is 14 lbs and the only one i could find listed at the Wolff gunsprings site, but the trigger pull is still pretty darn heavy.Mike

Another thought: at one time there were Bullseye spring kits made by Trapper Gun in Michigan. They had one for the Six Series and I had the springs in a Security Six I had at the time. I think they might be lighter than the Wolff ones. As the springs don't cost much I would order one (Wolff if you can't find a Bullseye e.g. a 10 lb one) for the GP/SP series and try it. May have to shorten the spring.

Wolff makes a kit for the Speed Six. I have one, just haven't installed it yet.

Since the start of the thread I have acquired a Speed Six. I put in the Wolff kit and it was a bit lighter. I now have an 11 lb mainspring out of GP in it and it works fine. I may reduce the tension on the trigger return a little as it is still pretty robust. The Trapper Bullseye spring kits are no longer available except on the secondary market.
