I've only done this with an MK II and it works great!
The process also familiarized me with all of the inside workings.
Go for it.

It's not really necessary (and expensive) to purchase the complete kit. You'll benefit most from the VQ sear. If you want to remove the magazine disco parts so that your magazines drop free (they'll actually shoot out of the frame when the mag. release is pressed) and you'll eliminate the "mag. in, mag. out two step waltz involved with disassembly, you might want to consider replacing the hammer bushing. There is a fella in Canada that sells a replacement hammer bushing for the Mark III pistols at a very reasonable price ($10.00 shipped) and it works very well to replace the original. I've installed five of those bushings in various Mark III's so far. If you'd like to have a trigger that has pre and over travel adjustment, the VQ trigger is about the only aftermarket trigger that offers both of those options. If you'd like to contact Sam and get the bushing he sells, let me know.

I put the newer Mark II kit with the stainless trigger in my Mark III Target stainless. The II kit fits a III that's had the mag safety removed by using a Mark II hammer bushing.

I found it too touchy, under two pounds, with the VQ springs and went back to the stock springs. I also installed VQ's titanium disconnector. My trigger pull now is a very smooth three pounds, good for me.

VQ springs? I'm looking for the lightest trigger pull possible for my MKIII Comp.

I just installed the VQ sear, hammer, and bushing in my mark III 22/45. I have about 200 rounds through it since the upgrade and it is just as reliable as the day I bought it. The only compliant I have is the trigger...guess I will be ordering the VQ trigger next. I got all my parts from Midway. These parts made a great gun even better!

22/45

First of all . V should have a separate kit for the 45/22 . The kit has a sear spring that won't work with the 45/22 , so you have to use the original sear spring .
The problem is that you have to drive the pin out so hard & it all most destroys the spring . They should send a spare , stock sear spring . I was able to straighten it but WTF ?
Then ... to get rid of the mag safety you need their MK II target hammer & hammer bushing .
Yes , get rid of the mag safety . The mag now exits like it should , hits you in the foot !
Once pre & after travel is adj . , NO mention how to measure in the directions by the way !!!
The trigger pull wt. went from 4lb 2 oz to alb 2 oz .
I have tips if you want to chat .
I did a trigger job on my old MK I . By hand , so I've been around the block .
