Does this rail insert look right?

Disassembled my new SR9C for cleaning and noticed this on the left rail insert in the frame. The arrow in the pic points to a notch, to left of the takedown pin notch. This isn't in my SR9E.
The rail inserts are short enough, I don't want half of one missing.
I sent the pic to Ruger, but don't have an answer yet.
Any experts have an opinion?

IMHO it looks like a flaw in the rail, where it is either worn or a manufacturing defect is incurred.

Heard back from Ruger and they said it was normal, all the SR9Cs are like that.
This was the reasoning: "I apologize about the delay in response, I was able to get with a technician about the notch. He stated that it was to further cut down on the area for the slide railing.
Thank you for your patience!"
Sounded fishy, I can't imagine why the slide rail area needed to be reduced.
I went to my local dealer and checked the C he had, and sure enough the insert looked exactly the same. I also found some pics online of Cs stripped down and they had the cut-out.
So I suppose it is indeed normal.
