Gary Reeder Action Job

I live 135 miles from Flagstaff, AZ - the closest city to my remote Canyonlands home. Always stop in and check out Gary Reeder guns. A couple weeks ago I noticed a Ruger Redhawk, very similar to my Ruger Redhawk Kodiak Backpacker. Was admiring it and asked about their Positive Performance Package which includes an action job, crowning the barrel, and a Maxi Throat.

Had mine in the car so brought it in and side-by-side pulled the trigger of the one already with the package and mine. Instant sale. Left mine behind. Got it yesterday and took it out to the range. Cold and windy but just wanted to feel the trigger. Was most amazing. Best part was the action job let me keep the revolver on target a lot easier.

Fringe benefit of blasting away with that .44Mag was the recoil somehow resets the bones in my wrist and heals my carpal tunnel....go figure.

Price when done was $360. Happy to pay it for the results. Now wanna take more revolvers to Gary.

Its my "car gun" keep it in the driver's side door map holder thingie with some insulation under it to make the bouncing around easier on it.

Reassuring to this olde man (72yo) that if I ever need it for self-defense I'll probably hit what I aim at.

A wonderful account. Remote Canyonlands hide away, good town to kick it up a little. A walk in, talk to the guy, try the goods custom gunshop. A cure for a chronic annoyance and a cure for transient annoyances while traveling. I love happy beginnings, middles and endings.

I like a good trigger.

I have a CZ 75 thats so smooth it feels like the trigger is disconnected. I love it on my decockers. . About a 3 lb trigger. But give it to someone whos not used to it, and they will double tap.

I wouldnt want it like that for a safety/ cocked and locked carry.

But a great trigger on anything is awesome IMO. I have a SP 101 that could use a trigger job like yours.

My 1911s are set usually at about 3 1/2 lbs. which when crisp (as mine are) feels devine! My other pistols usually are heavier but still crisp.
