Gunsite scout muzzle brake installation

I've learned so much from all of you knowledgeable Ruger nuts and enthusiasts, I need some help and am looking to you all!

I have the ruger muzzle brake coming for my GSR and want to know everything and anything before the install,

I feel after watching some youtube vids, i trust your knowledge above all and should look to you,

even if its best taking it to a smith.

I would recommend a second pair of ear plugs. Recoil was reduced, but now everyone around me is deaf...

I installed a FORTIS RED Muzzle break last year on my Scout after one of the other members had made mention of it on another thread. Following their directions it was an easy install & did make a difference it sighting after each shot. As for the increase in noise , I've shot with my brothers (in an open field
and maybe it's because we're all geezers, but they didn't make any complaints.
I'm sure at a range, especially under a cover, it could be a problem but that is why ear protection is always a must.

Deacon, did you have to use a washer when you put your muzzle brake on?

I used the washers supplied with the brake & followed their directions and it worked out just right. Hope this helps.

You can also just use rocksett or red loctite instead of a crush washer and get better accuracy.
