Is there some trick or tool to hold the plunger down so you can slip out the extractor and also be able to put it back together again?

44 Deerslayer, The extractor goes back in easy but it can be a bear to get out. You have to use a tool such as a jeweler's screwdriver to push the plunger all the way in and hold it there. Then you can worm the extractor out. To replace, use the extractor to push the plunger back until the hole lines up then click ... it pops right in.

Iowegan, thanks for the info. I was going to press in the plunger with a tiny screwdriver but when I saw how strong the spring was, I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to get it back together. From your explanation, I see that shouldn't be a problem. Thanks again.
