What are some of you-all's "bucket guns", that is; rare(ish) guns you have to own before you move on, guns you would buy in a heart beat. Two of mine are a Ruger PC9

and S&W 1006.

I have a few more on my list but these two are the two more uncommon.

Thoughts?

My bucket list is down to 3.

Springfield M1 Garand (top), Ithaca M1911A1 (right)

and a 3 Screw 44MAG. If/When I get it, I'd like to see if I can have the frame case hardened, or at least the look applied somehow..

I want a BAR badly. I will be satisfied with the semi-auto made by Ohio Ordnance, but don't see the $4000 needed to get one coming in soon.

Same for the semi-auto Thompson, The G I Version

I like looking at some of the classics, but with the exception of some Sp Edition Lever guns, I don't have a big list of "want its".

How about this. I just scored on two 32's. First is a stainless with birdshead grip, and the other a Bisley. Now all I have to is wait for the FFL guy to call me when they come in. Already have the reloading components on the way, should be here tomorrow.

Pictures after they all get here.

The Garand is the only gun I actually pine for. One day I will own one, but not just any one. I want an authentic WW2 beaten up dinged and scratched example with a history. It doesn't matter if the bore is perfect or if it shoots straight. Functional is good 'nuff for me.

When I was a young teenager in the late 50's, a brother was a member of a rod and gun club that had a couple M-1's on loan for members use, along with all the free surplus ammo they wanted. We used them to hunt jackrabbits. I carried one deer hunting when I was 15. It was a heavy mother, and didn't get any lighter when I carried one in basic training in 63.

What would be even better is if you knew the history behind all the dings and scratches.

Oh it's a long list for me but if i were to pick one, it's that lefty M77 that was in my hands earlier, something I and my son can enjoy.

1. An M1 Garand (preferably Springfield Armory or Winchester)
2. An M1 Carbine (preferably Winchester or Rock-O-ola)
3. An M1a
4. An Armalite AR-10T 7.62mm NATO 20" SST
5. A S&W Model 59 (was my first duty gun as a LEO and foolishly sold it, I've been searching for another similar 59 ever since - about 20 years)

Just got rid of one of my "bucket guns" a few weeks ago. A BFR 45/70 revolver. I had surgery in my dominant shooting hand in October and ended up with two screws in a thumb joint. Scared to shoot it after that. Have shot 44 magnums with just a little thumb pain but the BFR even loaded down is a handful! I did see one in a local shop yesterday though when I picked up another 1911! Another one I would like to own is a fine old double rifle in say 577 nitro express. A S&W Triplelock too!

Stopped by a LGS at lunch the other day, and to my surprise, there were TWO PC carbines in the rack. A PC9 and a PC4. Well, I already have a PC4, and the PC9 is/was my number one bucket gun, so what did I do? It went straight on layaway! I will post pics in a new thread about this UNFIRED NIB beaut when I get her!

My "bucket guns" keep changing. Currently it is a Super Redhawk. 454 Casull, 7.5 inch barrel.

Not too long ago I wanted a Remington 88 in 35 Remington, for nostalgic reasons. Have yet to find a good one.
