As far as revolvers go, any S&W has , far and away, the best "out-of-the-box" trigger pull on the market (since the Python and Trooper are no longer made).

SR40 for NIB bought my 66 used and the SA pull is so nice compared to every other gun I've shot, I assumed it had some trigger work. After reading this thread, maybe the SW revolvers are just NIB terrific.

Best trigger for me was on an old 5-screw S&W Victory Model. Of course, that was about 60 years after it came "out of the box".

Best out of the box for me, to date has been a Browning X Bolt. Hands down the most impressive rifle trigger I ever felt.
As far as handguns, Colt Trooper, S&W 1911 and S&W 686.
As far as "worked", I have to go with a SBH. I believe the previous owner replaced a spring, I thought it was from Brownell's but I can't find a listing on their site.

Out of box my Walther PPQ, not just for the weight of the trigger but for the speed of reset.
With work I got my XDm trigger as light with less pretravel, but the PPQ still smokes it on the reset.

I love the trigger on my SR40C. I have others with good triggers too, but the SR stands out. And, as was mentioned by someone else - just keeps getting better.

| Best trigger pull from my handguns would be my Colt Python. My best Ruger handgun would be my Mk II Govt. Target, My best rifle would be my Pedersoli .451 Tryon Creedmore percussion rifle as it has a double set trigger. The set trigger breaks just by breathing on it... |

I have a taurus 66 that has a very smooth double action and a very crisp clean single action. It is just as good as my security six that i bought used with a "professional trigger job" as i was told. For my semi autos, my sig sauer sp2022 takes that hands down.

1950s vintage model 29 S&W .44 mag. has the best in my collection. I also have a 50s vintge Colt Cobra that has a amazing trigger on it, I can't imagine Colt spending the time to put that quality of a trigger on a back up type revolver.

The S&W 649 I just bought has the best trigger. The second best was the Ruger Alaskan I sold. Third would be a tie between a Model 29 & 686+.
Truth is, most guns have a better trigger than I have a hand...

Either of my Bearcats has a good smooth, short travel, out-of-the-box trigger, but that's easy for a SA revolver. These are better than any Single-Six or Blackhawk I've tried, though.
My LCR-357 has the best DA trigger I've ever felt.
My Mark III has the lightest trigger of anything I've owned, but that's from a VQ trigger, sear, hammer, and disconnector. I can't rate it as great because of the slop you have to leave in for a dependable reset, due to Ruger's design.
