You did the right thing. We used to comment on NCOERs if a Soldier did the "Hard right instead of the easy wrong". You should be proud of yourself. It was a tough call, and you made the right one.

I had a P3AT that went back to KelTec twice for failure to feed/eject issues. When it came back the second time it still would not work correctly. I called them and respectfully asked for a refund or a new gun. They offered a refund which I turned into a LCP. That was a year ago and never a problem with the Ruger. Sticking someone with a bad gun makes you the worst of the worst.
