Took my daughter shooting today

This young lady who the wife consider our daughter asked me to take. Her shooting today, which I Was more than happy to. We have a very nice indoor range close to us that has private lanes which I like with a new shooter. I took a small S&W 22, S&W J frame 357, SP101, Karr PM9 and a Kimber 1911. Started her out with a couple mags through the 22, then some 38s through the two revolvers. Then the PM9 and then the 1911. Asked her which one she liked the best, while she liked the 1911 it was just to big for her hands so she spend the rest of the morning shooting the PM9 (my thumb got sore loading mags). Just to be mean I loaded up some 357s in the SP101 told her to watch the gun then I fired one then handed the gun to her, she fired one round and handed it back.

She later told me that she was a little scared of guns but as the morning wore on she got more comfortable with them and we both had a good time.

Then I had to buy her lunch.

patkelly4370 will become famous soon enough
Now she gets the rest of the experience by cleaning the firearms and reloading some ammo.
I enjoy introducing new shooters to the world of bang.

Awesome!! I just love it when I hear these stories! Just try to make sure of the priority to teach safe handling skills. Young shooters have to have these proper skills drilled into them or things get forgotten in all the excitement! Keep up the good work m friend!!!

Glad to hear that Airdale several years ago I took my youngest daughter out had my S&W .357, 1911 .45acp & 9mm darn little gal took to all of my guns and basically out shot me on everything that day! Now that she is married her husband bought her a Ruger 22/45. Plus he also has a Beretta 40/9mm combo etc and Ruger 10/22. She likes to shoot all of them!!! The 4 of us my wife and them need to go out and shoot again!! Its been too long since our last outing.

They aren't know it all knuckle heads!!! I teach archery with the conservation department and I have always enjoyed teaching a group of girls more than a group of boys. Girls stay quiet and listen to what you are telling them and hit the targets instead of telling you how long they have been shooting and that's not how their dad told them to do it and miss every time.

I have 2 daughters myself 8 and 16. They have been rifle shooting with me for the last 3 years. They both shoot very well, but they listened to me and the results show.
