We've all been there and done that! However, one does stand out in my mind that I should never have let go. It was a first generation .45c, black powder frame Colt SAA 4 3/4", all matching. Even though it was a patina finish and the grips were quite worn, I should have held onto that one. WB

Own 'em; shoot 'em; keep 'em! If you don't, someday you'll wish you had!

I guess I'm in the minority here, I've never sold a piece. Thoughht about it but have always been able to talk myself out of it.

I decide that I want another firearm, then research.
When I buy one, it's the one I want.

Over the years, I've had 33 guns, still have 18 of them. My first shotgun & rifle are in the "Still Have" column.
One gun I REALLY kick myself for trading off was an A3-04 Springfield, still in full military wood & sling. Had it for a while, neat gun, but there was this Ruger .22 Single Six convertible in a gun shop. Dad had one I could shoot the eye of a frog at 75', so . . .

Traded the Springfield in on it. Then regretted it! That was the WORST shooting gun I'd ever seen! Could not hit the broad side of the barn if I was inside the barn!!! Kept locking up, too. Previous owner had lost one of the internal pins and replaced it with a cut off nail. Worked most of the time, but when it didn't lock-up!

Traded it off (with full discloser) for Universal M1 30 Carbine that I gave to my Dad.
And REALLY wish that Springfield was in my safe!

Pretty happy with the guns I have now, have weeded out the "don't have to have" ones. The only one I can think of that I'd like to have is a .45 ACP Springfield GI, or a Colt compact 1911 in .40 S&W.
Or maybe a ______________
Ah, hell, who am I kidding?

I wish I had sold my marlin camp 45 and marlin cowboy rifle in 45 colt 24 inch barrel after the takeover of marlin by remington. I would have gotten much more than I did. But I needed the money when I sold them so oh well.
