I just bought my first Ruger 10/22. I pick it up on tuesday. i cant wait. it should be a lot of fun. =] and my first gun was a browning lightning. and a remington 7600 .270. i love them both. The Browning is my favorite gun of the two by far. Hopefully my 10/22 will change that.

10/22 Stainless Barrel w/ Synthetic Stock purchased in 2000. Still have it and would never sell it since it was also my first gun. It remains my favorite to shoot as well since I can go all day without going broke.

First Ruger and first gun purchase. I've had it for a few weeks and putting about 200 rounds a week through it. Wish I could do more. ![]() Already thinking of picking up a .45 of some kind, and can't find a reason not to get a second Ruger. |

Ruger P89 9mm. My uncle bought it new in '93 and sold it to me about 3 years ago. Still looks new, as neither of us shot it much. Surprisingly I'm not very good with it. Maybe I need a laser or something... |

First Ruger was a 10/22 I got for Christmas when I was about 14. Still have it, it's my "keep in the barn for killing critters" gun, it's got about a million rounds through it and I still use it as a backyard plinker. Countless squirrels and groundhogs have fallen before it! My first "real" Ruger was (is) my GP100 blued 6" full underlug, no real sentiment attached to it. I bought it when I was by myself shopping at Gander Mt. and decided to see what Ruger revolvers were all about. It has since been followed by about 8 more Ruger DA revolvers, both several Six series and GP's of various flavors. Ironically my first Ruger wheelgun, the one that started my interest with Ruger DA revolvers, is my least favorite. Nothing at all wrong with it, just don't care as much for full lug 6" revolvers. My half lug 6" is by far better IMO and the 4" GP's do anything my 6" can do and handle far better for me. Last edited by stantheman86; 02-27-2010 at 11:43 AM. |

First gun was an old Winchester single shot passed down from my grandfather. First of my own was a Colt single six I got at graduation from HS. First Ruger was a 2 3/4" Security Six purchased in 71 when I realized the rattle snakes in MN were too big for a 22 in my opiniom!

My First Ruger was a 10/22 bought around 1985.. Since I've had several 10/22s, MKII Pistols & SP101s.. I think that every shooter needs a 10/22 & MKII in thier collection, It sure saves on ammo costs & they are alot of fun plinking at the range.. Gary/Hk |

My first firearm that I bought with earned money was a Ruger. Worked the summer of 1973, 15 years old, steady diet of Elmer Keith in the old Guns and Ammo mag. Changed irrigation sprinklers morning and night, at $1.85 an hour. Made enough money, and talked my Mom into buying a OM Blackhawk in 45 Colt. Still got it, unmolested. Could bust bottles at 50 yards back in the day. Can't hardly make out a bottle at 50 to shoot these days. (Heavy sigh) Ain't gettin' old grand. |

My first Ruger was a flat top .357 Mag Blackhawk, Chromed, 4 5/8" barrel, and stag horn grips. Beautiful! accurate! It was 1962, in So. Florida. I had just started college there. I hunted with it. Like a fool, I sold it. Now I wish I had it back.

My first gun was a Hi-Standard Flite-King 20ga 3" mag pump shotgun 28" full choke vent rib bought at Wollworth's( $69.99 ). I was 18. 1973. Shot my first and many pheasants...great gun, I'd buy one again if I could find one. Then I went to hi dollar Winchester O/U's... My first Ruger was .357/9mm 4 5/8" Blackhawk-target sights...my brother still has it...circa 1975. I now have several 77's, and #1's and RSI's.... |

First gun was a Daisy Red Ryder that I used to clean out my friends of money, comics and bubble gum in shooting contests. I discovered the concept of trajectory before they did. First firearm I purchased was a used Ruger Single Six .22Lr/.22 Mag convertible only the .22 Mag cylinder didn't come with it although it did have a western holster and belt. Being young and stupid I sold it a few years later. Stupid continued for many years. I could tell you of many guns I acquired and then sold or traded but I don't want to make some of the more sensitive readers cry. ![]() Boris |

My first Ruger was my first handgun, a mid-60's vintage Standard Model, or Mk I. It seems like I read somewhere that the proper name for the 4 3/4" tapired barrel pistol is "Standard Model" and the 6" heavy tapired barrel is the Mk I. I dunno, I just like to shoot it. The really sweet part of this pistol is that it was passed down from my grandfather. It was in completely original, used condition when I got it, I just added the grips and had the bolt jeweled. Didn't feel bad about those modifications because they majorly dressed up the looks and I could always just throw the stock grips back on and polish out the jewels if I wanted to. This pic is washed out looking, but it's all I got. |
