Let's see your modified SR1911's....

Hey guys, new to the forum and so far this seems like a great place! Let's see your modified SR1911's. It can be just grips, or anything and everything else. Even the smallest modification will do! I am in love with these guns and can't wait to own one myself. A gun shop about 15 mins from me is selling them for $650. I know where I'll be going to get one....

There are a few threads on this topic, just do a search and you will find them. In the spirit of fun, here is mine with all black parts replaced and grips changed. Oh and welcome to Rugerforum.

New grips, finger grooves and a stainless slide release. Will make all black parts stainless eventually.

Happy, would you mind telling me what grip safety and MSH you are using? Thanks!

Here's mine... Pachmayer wrap around grips, arched mainspring housing, Wilson matching slide lock and thumb safety. I stayed with the "pinto" look ... might go all stainless some day.

No problem. Here is a list of all the parts.

Ed Brown Chainlink Mainspring housing part# 817C

Ed Brown Magazine release part#855E

Ed Brown Extended thumb safety part#891-T

Ed Brown Slide stop part#810-S

As for the beavertail safety, it's an old Smith & Alexander I had laying around.

The parts were all Stainless so I had to have them bead blasted to match the finish.

Hope that helps.
