Excuse my novice mentality towards the AR, but I was about to enter the AR world when government decided to come down on us (NY). Is this an AR platform that shoots 12g shells? Teach me! I hope to move to a different state and perhaps this could be my future. Your collection looks great BTW.

A better way to describe it is a semi-auto shotgun styled after an AR, with similar ergonomics and controls. Internally, there's nothing AR about it and nothing is interchangeable, so I wouldn't say it is an AR platformed weapon. It is a lot of fun though.

Well cool! It looks very cool! I've always liked Saigas, also (the idea that a shotgun looks like a popular platform). I have a Mossberg SPX that I like very much. I wonder how the two would hold up against one another.

Not familiar w/ the SPX, but almost all Saiga vs Akdal debates that I've read give the edge to the Akdal out of the box.

Nice to know you have the upper hand! The SPX is Mossbergs tactical version of their auto line. It's a tubular magazine, not detatchable (an obvious advantage of yours). It has ghost ring sights and some other extras (plus it's black). I love my pump shotguns, but I'm finding auto shotguns are awesome, too! I want to try an Akdal now. I also wouldn't mind a tactical side by side or over and under! Why? Cuz I can! The shotgun is a formidable player. Love 'em!

I'm really surprised there's not more interest in this shotgun. If you have the opportunity, I'd recommend everyone get behind the trigger of one.
