A SP101 357. I put the Ruger logo'd CT grips on. I used the IBOK to sweeten
the trigger and installed Wilson springs. A great pistol. Before, I only had 1 revolver a 4" GP100 that is just as nice.

Not that I'm superstitious, but today seemed like an appropriate time to post a pic of my SP101, even though it will soon be wearing CT grips.

Very nice. I like the velvety look of that finish. I talked to Marc at Gemini about my SP101. It would be another chunk of change to get the action smoothed and the finish redone, but I think it would be worth it. I've heard his action jobs are really smooth. I also like his gold-bead front sight. The guy seems like a wizard with a Ruger double-action revolver.

Has anyone around here tried the gold bead front sight on their SP101? I like the looks and think I would really like the function of that gold bead. Issue being that my rear sight is a notched top strap as my SP101 is DOA model with no cocking lever. What are peoples thoughts about this combo, gold bead up front with notched top strap in back? I'd try it out without any advise if the thing wasn't so damn expensive!

Nothing special on mine except logo'd CT grips. Wolff springs and some interior work coming up shortly thanks to Iowegan's IBOK. Those polished SP-101's are starting to get to me! Wondering if there is a reliable place that would do that and how much it would cost.

I just shot Bike Effects SP-101, above, w/the CTC laser grips. Those grips are required equipment as far as I'm concerned. As a person who enjoys redundant systems, I would also add a tritium front sight blade for when or if the laser malfunctioned. Like buying a good motorcycle helmet...how much is your life worth? But maybe that's just me.

Sr20de2, Nice.... What model CTC grips are those? 111 or 303?

P0meroy, I can answer that. I believe those are the same as mine (above) and are LG-303's. The only place you can get them with the Ruger logo is directly from Ruger.

Bike effects is correct. 303's I bought them from Ruger because I didn't want the generic CTC label.

Dr. Marneaus will become famous soon enough
Well, I just joined up yesterday, but might as well toss mine up there!!

Sweet little gun, I have only had it about a month but I love it. Stock, with CT grips with the Ruger logo, and shaved hammer. This is going to be my carry gun, as I am getting my CCW this month.

In my High Noon split Decision (Yup, I'm a lefty...)

Doc, a couple of questions if I may.

Could you please post a right side picture of your pistol in holster? Did you have to make any alterations to get it to fit in the holster correctly?

I recently purchased a SP101 with the Ruger branded CT laser grips. I have been looking for a holster. Most seem to cover the area occupied by the laser module.

It was not my intent to hijack this thread so I apologize.

Good shooting.

Here's a pic of my SP101 and my first target. I was using .38 special 158 gr. loads at a distance of about 15 yards. I really like this gun! The front sight kept disappearing against the black background of the target, so I painted it white.

Forgot to mention I had one flyer - my fault because I was squeezing with my hand and anticipating the recoil a bit. Other than that, all went well.
