I wouldn't! . Great find! Congrats! | He wasn't a clerk. He was the owner and I did try to tell him what he had for sale, but he wasn't interested in hearing about it. No guilt on my part.
The really sad part about it is he probably got it in a trade at a gun show or someone that walked in to the store. That means someone let it go to him for about $200 to $250 trade credit for some other gun.

Nice! thats a good price for any revolver, seems most anything decent goes for 400 and up these days...even the ones that have extra holes drilled in the barrel...
Savor it...very few of those kinds of deals come along in a lifetime...

I can only dream of being so lucky!
Yeah, that's a good price for a plain Jane SP in my parts and a steal on a custom one.

What an awesome way to find a little pleasure in the pain of a dentist visit.

Used to be you went to the dentist and need a few feelings. Now everything is a $1000 each crown. Dentists have a racket. My dentist plays musical chairs whenever i am there. One minute working on me, the next she has rushed to the next room working on someone else. No "i will be right back" or anything. I hate going.

I hate going. | I know how you feel, but unlike Pres. Clinton, I can't actually feel your pain. But I have enough to deal with on my own. At my last visit he told me that I need $10,000 worth of dental work and my insurance plan will only pay up to 40% with a yearly cap of $1,000. He also let me know that I ran out with the last procedure and I've still got nearly $2,000 oweing to him. While he never bugs me about the bill, I don't like oweing anyone that much money and had no idea that was my balance. They never tell you what a procedure costs the day of service, because they can't. They take their bill, bill the insurance company and then my bill is whatever is left after the insurance company responds to their bill.
However, I really like my dentist. He's easy and interesting to talk to (providing you're able to!) and never leaves you waiting alone. He's extremely careful and cautious about pain management and stops immediately if he ever sees you whincing. On top of that, he's a gun enthusiast, too!
I know a bit about medical billing and doctors and dentist have outrageous costs for practicing legally in the US and staying covered by malpractice insurance.
That's one of the biggest costs in healthcare is paying doctors for their malpractice and liability insurance. If medical malpractice lawsuits were mandated to be handled by a review board for remediation, and findings were capped at actual and foreseeable out of pockets cost and lost wages, then insurance premiums could go way down. But with the out of control law suits that find for immeasurable things like pain and suffering, the cost to everyone skyrockets so that the lawsuit lottery winners can profit.

Very nice! Too true, you gotta love when a Glocktard doesn't know about the quality/pricing on something out of their realm of interest like a revolver.

Nursing sore and abused gums from all the poking, prodding, scraping, and polishing that had just taken place, I took a short detour to the gun shop down the street. It's a decent store and you never know what you will find because they trade at shows all over the area on the weekends.
Minding my own business looking at the mountains of Glocks and Springfield XD variants clogging up the case, I noticed an unassuming revolver in their midst. Very nice, it was a SP101 in very good condition. Hey now....hold on a second....what's that little makers mark under the cylinder release? Oh my...it's ported. Better check the internet on my phone because I think I'm looking at a genuine Jack Weigand Custom SP101. Yep, that's his mark.
A brief chat with the store owner about box and paperwork yielded zero so I ask him if he knows who's mark that is on the gun. He's clueless. I so love when Glock Guys run gun stores. I told him it was a Weigand .... blank stare from him. I told him I would take it .... his face lights up.
$359 out the door after taxes. Probably the best used gun purchase I've ever made.
Came home and did a bit more research and found out that Jack stopped taking new work in early 2000's. I wanted one of these back in the 90's when I first saw the package in a gun mag. Instead I opted for a S&W 65 with Magnaporting. So cool to actually have the real deal. I'm dropping the Hogue mono grip and replacing it with the Crimson Trace laser grips. Have them on my LCR and really like them. Perfect for CC. Laser grips were on sale for $170 delivered. It's been a great day.
Heck, I might not mind going to the dentist again in 6 months if I can get another deal like this one. | |

I am so envious. The SP101 is exactly the revolver that I want for my CC, and that is an awesome speciman. Great score.
