JC Higgins is on a distinguished road

My old blued GP100. Millett rear sight and HiViz front. Wolffe Springs. New Altamont grips with Rose wood checkered inserts.

Brought it home, stripped it down, sanded a few rough places and then sprayed it with C series Cerakote in Graphite Black.

I'm happy with the way it turned out. Don't have to worry about external rust anymore .

It's getting a set of Wilson Combat springs this weekend and then it'll be doing truck/woods gun duty.
How does Cerakote hold up on a revolver?

So far so good. The turn line appears quickly, which is to be expected with metal on metal contact. I wouldn't do it with just any gun though mind you. I bought that one in pretty finish distressed shape for 275.00. It was functionally perfect, but looked rough. Sprayed it and put it in a floor safe in my truck. It's been riding around in there now for a little over a year with monthly range trips to stretch it's legs.

Good to know. How's the area around the forcing cone and front of the cylinder holding up?

It's holding up well. C series cerakote is meant for high heat applications.

Thanks! It very quickly became my favorite. No matter what else comes to the range, it is there as well!
