| Favorite Pistol You've Ever Owned?
It's probably been asked before, but I did a search and didn't see anything recent. Like the title says, what's your favorite pistol you've ever owned and why?
Mine is my M&P9 Pro 5". I love my Glock 21 and Glades 1911 in a tie for close second, but last year I picked up the new S&W after searching all over the state for one. I picked it up specifically for plate shoots at my local range. After breaking it in with a few hundred rounds I put in a full Apex Tactical Competition kit and FELL IN LOVE. I can effortlessly bullseye a 1" ragged hole at 7-10 yards with a full mag, and still keep a respectable group at 25 yards. The Apex kit just made the gun perfect. The fit & finish is top-notch, and the interchangable backstraps make it fit like a glove. It's great having a standard 17-round mag, and awesome having a couple with +5 extensions for a staggering 22 rounds in a mag that's only about an inch longer than stock. 3000 rounds and only 1 (ammo related) failure. I'll keep this damn thing forever.
Let's see your personal favorites...

my favorite handgun depends on what im needing one for....
7 1/2" SBH for deer hunting
my Beretta 92's for when i feel the need to outshoot my buddy's 9mms at the range
my MKII Target Competition for rabbit hunting/plinking
my G21 is my favorite bedside gun
my Walther PPS for summer carry
my 3" S&W 60 has become my favorite for winter carry
and the Ruger LCP for deep concealment
i know you asked for favorite overall, but its impossible for me to narrow it down, and i had to throw some revolvers as well

Ruger P89DC I've owned it since 1993 fired thousands of rounds through it. It's never jammed not once and is still as accurate today as it was when I bought it which is very accurate.

Ruger Hawkeye, still have it. Has a vintage 1.5 Phantom with original Post mount system on it. When you light that puppy up on the range, believe me, heads do turn. Great, accurate round.Coogs.

For sentimental reasons, one of my first Rugers which were also my first handguns, ever. I started out with an Old Model Single Six. That gun taught me that shooting pistols was one heck of a lot harder than shooting rifles. Had to sell it, a few years later to pay for college tuition. Managed to replace it in another few years with a Ruger MK1 with fixed sights. Now that was one pistol that taught me I could shoot a pistol accurately. It put a lot of rabbits and squirrels in the stew pot. Seems like I couldn't miss with that MK1. If I could have one gun back, it would be that one.

I'd have to say all of mine are my favorites or I wouldn't have them.If I had to pick one in 22 cal it would be my S&W M41. Centerfire is a hard call depends what I needing at the time. I'm pretty fond of my Redhawks. For carrying my G27, LCR or model 442 Smith.

My new favorite is a recently purchased FNH FNP-45! This thing is huge! Not a good choice for fair weather ccw but it certainly prints one heck of a group! Everything they say about it is true, less "felt recoil", boringly reliable, and really fun to shoot! Before the aquisition of this latest purchase my favorite would be my Colt Delta Elite 10mm, the problem with it is the ammo can make holes in just about everything, especially your wallet! |

ruger new model blackhawk 1977 71/2. !st centerfire handgun. Over 75 k rounds thru and lots of deer and boar and a reed stag. Also used for self defense once. I still have this one. Second favorite and sold a sig p-210-6 target in pmm and with a 22 conversion unit and the 30 luger unit. This cost me 2500 1984 dollars. I sold it in 2007 for twice that. I needed the money but boy was that sweet shooting and it always got stares and ous and ahs from knowlegeable shooters.

It's usually the last one purchased, , but I still have a few favorites that stand the test of time.
Current favorite, my new Walther PPQ, nothing short of amazing!
Then my SP101 9mm,
my 40 year old Ruger Standard which just got a thorough cleaning and some fancy boots for it's birthday,
and my old standby SigSauer P226. |

Oh man, hard to pick! I guess it is my SA GI 1911A1, the Ruger P90 is a close second. I just shoot the 1911 more, so I had to put her first.
