Finally got me a P97dc

Picked this up today. Ruger P97dc in very good shape with night sights and two mags about $250 out-the-door. I have been looking for one of these for years but there was always something that kept me from grabbing one.

I intend to. I have an identical P95dc that I've had for 12 years. Bought it new to celebrate turning 21. I don't let go of guns lightly.

You got a pretty nice one there yourself.

The LGS just added a clearance section the other day and posted a pick on FB. I could just barely make out the nose of a Ruger P-series and saw the tag said .45acp so I knew it had to be a P97 but the decocker was obscured so I didn't know if it was a safety or the DC model (I specifically wanted a decock-only model). Went down first thing this morning and it was just what I had been looking for. Prices on these seem to be coming down, seems people are already forgetting about them even though double action pistols in general seem to be gaining a little popularity recently.

I love my KP97DC! I bought it new back in 2004 and it's a keeper. It is the softest shooting 45acp you'll ever find plus it's accurate and 100% reliable!

I have all the P series 45s, and my KP97DC is the softest shooting 45 I own. Im pretty sure they were only DAO, or Decockers. There were no manual safety models. I paid $340 a couple years ago, and mine was very gently used. I love it, and wont ever let it go.

Congratulations on finding one of the best 45s ever made.

Yes the P97DC has a decocker, but it's not DAO. It's SA/DA. The P97 was also available in a DAO.
