Regarding the FN grips, the gentleman I purchased it from a few years ago couldn't remember the brand of grips and since there are no identifying markings ... I'm uncertain They are both great shooters and in terms of accuracy, very similar as you can see in the comparison target below.

That type of accuracy from a HP is not surprising ( but no longer attainable from these old eyes and shaky hands ). IMO, the only other semi-auto that feels as good in the hand is the CZ75. However, my old P95 kinda of melts in my big mitts as well

Thank you. Those grips are Herrett Coco-Bolos from Brownells

Sounds like we have similar thoughts on the matter . The only 9mm in my range bag that will consistently out shoot my Hi Powers is my CZ75b. I also have an affinity for my P95 which served as my 1st carry gun back in '04

How are the Argentine Hi Powers?

Since shooting my buddy's I'm starting to get the itch to get one...

Also good to see that the FEG ones are good contenders, too.

Thank you,

Aqualung

The only real non-Belgium contenders for quality "HI Powers" are those licensed by FN; the Argentine FM (Fabricacione Militare). The other one ( although not license) is the Hi Power clone made by FEG in Hungary. Don't shy away from either one

Oh my ...VERY nice stable of hipowers. I'm sure it took years and patience to obtain your collection. KUDOS. Myself I have owned 1 FM and 3 FEG. Sadly the only one I have left now is this FEG PJK-9HP. Mag safety removed, worked over trigger ..(4.5# ) and custom comp.

Thank you for your comment-yes, I've been slowly accumulating my little collection for a long time, as the right one came along for the right price. Now on a retirees budget, I'll have to be satisfied with some less expensive surplus "project" HPs That looks like a really nice "tricked" FEG. The Argees and FEGs are gettin' darn expensive also

Yes they have gone up in price quite a bit and most of what you see now are rough. Last year Bud's had a few starting at $249 along with some Kareens. My buddy picked up a Mauser 80/FEG for $289 and was a solid 80% gun.

oldster, You have a very nice collection!! I just have one lonely Browning Hi Power .... 1959 vintage with the "finger print" slide, Commander style hammer, and internal extractor.

I agree with BuckJM53 ... the only 9mm pistol that shoots better than my Hi Power is my CZ 75b.

Iowegan; Thank you for the nice comments. I've told myself, now that I'm on a retirees income, that I'm done buying "pricey" HPs. However, I have to admit, I'm always looking for a nice vintage like yours to complete my group. That "thumb print" Hi Power of yours is truly a gem
