That sir is one fine rifle. I really like the fact that no matter how hard I tied, I could not find the seams where you filled the old dovetails. I csrtsinly don't have your skills and just went with the XS Scout rail on my GBL. This is excellent work, and thanks for the heads up on the saddle ring/safety delete!

That's beautiful. I have been thinking about another 45-70. I used to have an old Harrington Richardson single shot.

Awesome. I would like a 1895 as well. I like levers. I like Marlin. And I like stainless. Really nice rifle and great upgrades!

-A few reduced power springs
-skinner rear aperture and front post sights
-stainless mag follower
-installed a 6+1 mag tube from an 1895SBL (this required cutting a new dovetail)
-Filled rear sight dovetail and under barrel dovetail
-safety delete w/ saddle ring
-lever wrap with paracord

Future:
Medium sized loop is currently en route.
Sling
Potentialy refinish furniture without checkering.

Anyway. It shoots great still, but now its much more handy and useful! Bit of an updated take on a lever gun. I doubt i'll ever put optics on it, but a scout scope is a possibility in the future.

What a beauty you have.

Those are some really nice shots. I love the old 45-70. I have three left. I'll have to try and figure out a way to post some pics. It is one of the most enjoyable cartridges to shoot. It shoots well and just really jazzes up the old blood and gets it moving.
