Been working on some improvements to my 1895GS. It's still not done yet, one or three more tweaks to make including a proper shooting sling, but so far here is the work i have done:
-Action smoothing/slicking job
-A few reduced power springs
-skinner rear aperture and front post sights
-stainless mag follower
-installed a 6+1 mag tube from an 1895SBL (this required cutting a new dovetail)
-Filled rear sight dovetail and under barrel dovetail
-safety delete w/ saddle ring
-lever wrap with paracord
Medium sized loop is currently en route.
Potentialy refinish furniture without checkering.
Anyway. It shoots great still, but now its much more handy and useful! Bit of an updated take on a lever gun. I doubt i'll ever put optics on it, but a scout scope is a possibility in the future.
