I have the 66-1 that my wife got me new back in the early 80s. I don't shoot it very often but did have it out last week. It is a nice shooter. Your's looks like it was well taken care of.

We all have guns that we regret letting slip through our fingers. I guess that I have let go of more than I care to admit. I purchased the first model 66 that came to my small NC town back then. I also acquired a 6" and a 2.5" in the early 80s. The 4" and 6" got away but I held on to the 2.5" ND which is seldom fired and has spent most of it's life in my safe. If I want to shoot a K-frame, my 19 is my usual choice.

That 2.5" one is really nice. I always wished mine had a round butt for carry.

If you ever decide to sell it, I would be more then happy to take it off your hands!
Thanks for the info RWT.
I have no plans on getting rid of any of my Smiths.
I shot the 2 1/2" 66 probably a year or so ago. It shoots real nice. I traded something I had for the 2 1/2" to a buddy of mine that passed away over 30 yrs ago. I really don't know the age or the S/N range when it made made but I know it has to be well over 30yrs old.
Way back I bought nothing but Smiths then I caught the Ruger fever. I wish now I would have bought more Smiths and the old Colts instead. I can't believe what the Colts are going for today. The sad part I worked for a shop that was a Colt Distributor and I didn't buy more Colts when I should have.
