Talking Ultimate Revolver! The Blackhawk.

The threads here about the reliability and awesomeness of the famed revolver have had me thinking. People proposing the revolver is second to none and first to all else had me wondering if I could even improve upon the platform.

Then, I thought: What would John Wayne do in the 21st century?

He would keep his six shooter and slap a proven optic on it!

So, I took the unstoppable Ruger Blackhawk in 357 AND 9 (the Duke would want modern versatility) and put an Aimpoint PRO on it. This setup is unparalleled.

Thanks to Waveform's attention seeking threads, I decided to do my own work and set up this bad boy:

What you have is the rootinist-tootinist six-shootinist battle-ready bad-guy blaster known to man! Add some G10 panels and a light, and this bad boy is ready for the big time:

No you're doing it all wrong. You can't just post a couple of photos of the finished project - to get the full narcissistic experience you have to stretch it out into a long project monologue.

Your revolver is, um, interesting. The barrel is kinda long and the grip looks sorta funny but those parts can be fixed.

seems it would make it impossible to holster, and a bit heavy to try and aim, unless you were to use a mono-pod.

besides, THE DUKE would rather have done it UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL!

COOL setup to be sure, but since the Aimpoint Pro is made to normally mount via picatinny rail, I have to ask if you modified the top strap to accept it?
As an aside, I love my Aimpoint Comp M4, but mine is mounted on a carbine.

Being that top heavy, it might be more comfortable to shoot it upside down. You might want to add a bipod underneath to counterbalance things.

Was this post just tongue in cheek? Click Bait? Anyway playing along, I think it would be .45 Colt/.45 ACP instead of the peanut calibers... And then no optical sights/rails/flashlights/lasers. Kind of hard to shuck that monstrosity out of a belt holster 'quickly' when needed amonst other considerations... . <sigh> . That is ... just ... so wrong ... IMHO only of course .

I'm with N.C. Gal, it needs a bipod. Then definitely a muzzle-brake, and maybe a mono-pod under the grip. Oh yeah Neon...Laser Grips, gotta have a laser.

I like that y'all are onto me having some fun. The Aimpoint stays on my Colt. I love that Blackhawk and wouldn't defile it with a huge red dot.

Here is how they actually stand...
