Pair of Sixes

Couple months ago went up to Colorado Springs to browse the gun shops. Found a decent 4" Security Six for a good price, a 1976 model to boot. Then today I was at a gunshow and found another Security Six with a 2.75" barrel so it came home too. The wood grips look nice but they don't offer me much grip so I have some Houges on the way for the 4", will have to order another set for the other gun. Also have shims and springs for the 4" to lighten the trigger, will have to order some for the other one as well.

Actually, the guy I got it from said he was working on a deal and expecting a 6" in soon. I've never been super interested in a 6", but it would be cool to have a full set.

I already am. I was familiar with the Six-series before but ever since I picked up that 4" (my first) I've had them on the brain. I'm watching about 40 various Rugers on gunbroker right now.

Congratulations - a nice looking duo. With over 70 variants the Six series offers a lot of guns for the collector. Good luck on your quest!

I'm not that dedicated. lol. I plan to pick up a 4" and a 2.75" stainless Speed Six in .357 and call it good. Maybe some 9mms if I find one I'm comfortable dropping the coin on. The .38-200's can go to the serious collectors. If somebody offered to sell me a .38 for a stupid low price I might.
