Max is Home!

Finally got my .357 Maximum out of hock, er, layaway today. Came with box and shipper. Has a turn ring, but doesn't appear to have been shot much--yet.

Nice gun! I like the BH/SBH platform a lot - no frills, just a genuine workhorse.

I think I heard they used to have flame erosion around the forcing cone/topstrap junction with that cartridge. Did Ruger finally solve the issue?

Sort of... They quit making them! Some say that guys got to shooting them with hot loaded light bullets, causing more than wanted flame cutting. I've also heard that the cutting goes only so far then eases off. Others say that if you stick with 158 grain bullets and above, all will be OK. Me, I'm going to see how she likes 162GC SWCs...
