Show your BBQ Guns?

It's been dictated that I should carry a gun at my wedding.

This got me thinking about needing a pretty gun. I've got my vaquero which could be dressed up with some grips but my rig is a plain Jane Triple K setup.

This got me thinking about a nicely decorated SR1911, along with a wild bunch type rig. Hey, she gets to buy a dress, I should be able to buy a gun and a rig for it.

The whole thing made me curious, I'd like to see y'alls BBQ Guns, or your Sunday go to meeting guns. You know what I mean! Lets see em!

Congratulations, but I thought only the Bride's family carried guns to a Wedding, and shotguns at that.

Congratulations on the upcoming wedding and I agree you should be allowed to spend at least as much on your gun as the bride spends on her dress. Or at least say it cost no more.

Something in nickel perhaps? Engraved? Are you allowed to dress in western attire? If so definitely something SA with very nice leather. This should be fun - almost enough to make a man look forward to the event....

I don't know that I have something that quite qualifies as a BBQ gun. I decided a while back to stick to blue and SS and no nickel. I have one in the works but I won't have it for another couple months - it's away getting "the treatment".

Right now my best option for a BBQ gun would probably be my Alaskan.

I guess it would be my 4.25" SW 1911 SC with Melonite treated stainless slide, match concave barrel, ambi safety, night sights, bob'd scandium frame, etc. Theres even a youtube vid where I guy proclaims it as just that, his barbeque gun. So it must be so. haha

I don't think it gets any more BBQ than some nice grips, deep bluing, and a little gold-etch flair.

If revolvers are in order, then a little stainless to the nice grips and gold can compliment your outfit nicely.

If gold isn't your thing, a nickle plated Beretta should do the trick.

I almost forgot about this one:

Mirror polish blue and imitation ivory grips. Dropping out a big hollow-point .44 MAG round from the cylinder door would always make for a good conversation piece while the stakes are cooking.

Talking

I'm not big on posting pictures of myself holding firearms, but I wanted to share this pic of me getting ready to go to a wedding. Somehow, I get the feeling this might not be what you have in mind.

... Jack in the Box ... had to google that one. (Don't have them here.)

Dr M. - sorry for the hijack - that wasn't my intention... just thought the pic might give you a wedding idea.

Wow definitely some beautiful guns there guys and that's the stuff I'm looking for!

On a side note the wedding isn't specifically going to be western themed but I'll likely be wearing boots nice jeans and a jacket for the ceremony, because that's me , not because it fits a theme or an image specifically.

I like the idea of the revolver and I love a nice single action but I've always been a. 1911 guy so I am a little torn. when I proposed I was wearing a 1911 openly on my hip and had a PBR trucker hat on my head.

....unfortunately it was a sig scorpion in a kydex holster so not exactly wedding attire haha. But that's why I am thinking about a nice stainless 1911 and a leather rig, wild bunch style.
