Its a Single Six .32 H&R Magnum - my Vaquerito project.

Barrel shortened to a quasi sheriffs model length of 3.5" (can still use the ejector rod.)
Action work and a real nice trigger job.
A better (my opinion) front sight.
Factory bluing and faux "color case hardening" polished off.
"Warning" on the barrel was also re-indexed to a better, less unsightly position.
Engraved by Mark Hykes in Sparks, Nevada.
Blued by Hot Flash. Screws/pins nitre blued (but they don't show up real well.)
Sides of hammer and trigger jeweled.
Holster is a Mernickle PS6SA.

10 rds over the Chrony (Hornady 85 gr XTP, 12 gr of Li'l Gun) averaged about 1200 fps.

Its my BBQ gun. But also actually carry and shoot it; a very nice shooter. I'll NOT let it be a safe queen; am gonna enjoy it and shoot it!
What model is that holster? I need a cross draw for my 5-1/2" Vaquero.

I can't help you with that model but if you want, check out the guy that made my rigs. desert Wave Leather. He's on etsy and Facebook. Does custom work.

Dah! If I had read the Mernickle post a little closer I would have seen the model number. Sorry.

This is the wedding gun? How did you come to this choice?

Decided to quit screwing around and do it right.

Back story is that a case hardened Turnbull 1911 with giraffe bone grips is my dream 1911, but I didnt have $2800 to spend.

That in mind. I went out looking for a nice used or a new colt 1911.

While at Cabelas I stumbled onto the desert eagle 1911 with a case hardened frame, which was a Cabelas exclusive. It was the last one they had, so last one in the state of NV.

I realized this is as close as I would ever get to my dream gun, and 1/3rd the cost. I bought it and took it home, then ordered up the giraffe bone grips and there you have it. A poor mans version of my $2800 dream 1911.

It looks amazing and shoots amazing! Now, however, it just mostly resides in the safe unless I'm dressing up

Sounds like a win to me.

One of my dream guns was a 4" Model of 1950 45ACP (commercial 1917 variant). Those are hard to find under a couple grand or so. A modern $800 retro works just fine.

Thanks! It'll get shot from time to time, but will be used for what this thread is dedicated to. An open carry gun and rig for special occasions.

I hear ya! I'll get my turnbull one day, but until I hit the lotto, this one will do. Plus, it'll forever be "The Wedding Gun." Perhaps a son of mine will get to wear it one day as well?
