I attended my first idpa style pistol competition yesterday. It was awsome! All of the guys there were nice and helpful. Im not really sure how i did competition wise, but i had a blast and the sr9 was on the dot and ran flawless. Anyone who has been thinking about idpa but has never actually went should go and just try it. I am joining the club and i will probably try and make it to a couple other clubs each month too.

If you carry a handgun for self defense, I think IDPA is a must. Good for you. Stick with it and learn from the old salts.

I also just went to my first IDPA match. Got the results back a few days ago. 13 shooters overall and I placed 5th (better than my dad so that's all that matters ). Out of people who were not classified I was second. It was a non-sanctioned event but it was still good practice and lots of fun. Don't know about you but I was calm till that buzzer went off. Hope you did good.
