Glad to see the post on ICORE in the forum. The BOD will probably create a 6 shot class w/speed loaders only by years end (you can still shoot your mooned revo is either limited or open class) and should open the door for Ruger's to be used by interested shooters.

JMax, Thats what I was told a few weeks back with regard to the Retro Div, any 6 shot speedloader fed, this will also bring SSR-IDPA shooters in, shot my match this past Sunday with GP-100 (stock springs) with speedloaders,200g bullets, run great. Had 6 people join ICORE at the match, now NC has 100% more members than it did a week ago. Regards, Dean www.caswellranch.embarqspace.com |

Dean, That is great news. I started a retro match every October at California Wheelburners matches three years ago with good turn out. A few of the open gun guys won't show up and a few of the moon clip guys would never use a speed loader again but I started as a cop in the early 80's and that was our equipment. As a side note it was one of our member who made the proposal to the ICORE BOD. I expect to see that class grow rapidly and most folks don't have an 8 shot S&W 627 from the performance center or a modified 7 shot 686. They do have 6 shot revolvers with speed loaders and the sport should welcome them with open arms. For my retro match I use a S&W 21 using HKS speed loaders, real retro. This October we will be shooting 5 classifier stages to get shooters classified to start next season. |

John, We had our first match last Sunday it had 5 classifier stages for the same reason, there was no way to get people classified around NC without a 3 hour drive and then it would be 1 stage at a time, no ICORE club in NC until a few weeks ago, scores posted on my web site also note speedloader or moonclip so people can see that you can compete with a speedloader, on the classifier score sheets (notes box) I also put speedloader or moonclip just incase ICORE wants to start a data base for new division. I love it and RW (statistics guy) will appreciate the effort. Keep shooting those revolvers and avoid bottom feeders:-)

My Mother's Family is from Yanceyville, so that is not that long of a drive...to me. Do they have any intermediate matches?
