Found some ammo and some time and finally got back to the gun range. The range is on private property so we had it all to ourselves and man does that beat a crowded public range!

Today was the first time out for the Lispey's Super Blackhawk in 44 Mag and the S&W 629 Talo. Also had the 629 Classic and 460XVR for a session of big bore fun. The SBH was way left and low and took some adjustments for windage and elevation to start finding the POI. The Bisley grip was comfortable as advertised but without a plow handle version for comparison I really can't say how different the Bisley feels.

The S&W 629 Talo was accurate right out of the box. Wow - what a nice shooter! Photo below was the very first string from 10 yards, no rest.

The Lipsey's SBH Bisley got dialed in closer and started producing these results at 15 yards:

With some more range time I think I could get similar results out to 20 and 25 yards but not today. The S&W 629 Talo was easier to find success with. There is a metal gong hanging below the target board and I could "ring the bell" with the 629 pretty consistently from 25 yards.

Keep in mind this was an informal fun shoot and not some serious range performance analysis. Ammo was what we had - a mixture of factory and hand loads. I put approx. 150 rounds of 44 Mag through the SBH and 629 and 50 rounds of 460S&W through the S&W 460XVR.

Note the size of the little 44 Mag next to the 460S&W Mag below!

After we put the big bores away we broke out the 22s and had a big time with the little bores.

Single-Six convertible, 1956 Single-Six flatgate, 1946 S&W K-22, Bearcat Shopkeeper and Mark-III. I'm happy to report the little Shopkeeper is functioning properly since coming back from Ruger CS. No jams and ejection of empties was much, much better. We plinked away to our hearts content, punching holes in paper and ringing the bell on the metal gong, swapping guns, telling stories and having a big time.

More range time tomorrow.....

Yes I'm the same guy who was asking about the P-89and talk about confused, I sure am. Today the gun shop I've dealt with for years called me they just got in the P-95 both in standard & stainless. Well I looked at both and the difference between the 2 is only 20.00, is the stainless really a big issue? And of course while I was there he showed me the LC-9, That's a small gun just a bit bigger than my LCP. So between the 3 guns there's only 30.00 difference! Question, can all 3 guns use +P ammo? I like the idea of the small LC-9, but I already have a LCP that is so easy to C.C. and I know it lacks the steam of the 9mm. But my thinking is if I have to use the LCP its gonna be close in work...Period! And the 380 should have enough steam to make a mark. What would you recommend I buy of the 3? And is their anything else I should look to get as far as accessories? Thanks for helping me with this one!

Opened today (Friday, 5/24) and runs through Sunday, 5/26. Lots of interesting stuff, packed wall-to-wall 15 minutes after doors opened. Plenty of ammo except for .22LR, which was scarce. Cheapest I could find was $75 for a brick of Federal Champion. Others selling for $80 or more; not many takers. 50-round boxes going for 8 to 10 bucks. Other ammo also high-priced but one seller was raking it in. One guy balked, however, for a box of 20 shells for $22. "You must be out of your mind!" he yelled but the seller just shrugged; plenty of other customers waiting.

Took 2 pics of some rare handguns, the big bore gold one made in WI; look the size of the cartridges!, the other a very nice Colt, packaged with ammo, badge, box, etc.

Greetings, first time poster here. I purchased a convertible 6.5" stainless a few weeks ago. It shoots great, however, there are times when I can't cock the hammer because the transfer bar contacts the firing pin. The transfer bar also seems to have a lot of play. It was happening to me today so I gave it a shot of oil. That seemed to fix it but is this something that Ruger should take care of? This is my first single action revolver and I really like it!

I cut out early today though and headed over to a range for some quality time with my 3" SP. She felt very nice firing 38 Specials with her new Houge Monogrip. Took my time and only shot 100 rounds. Put 100 holes in the 8" target.

It felt good firing live again. Can't wait for my next trip. SR9c will go with me then.

I was going thru the warehouse looking at what's there and I decided it is time for us to start a "Deal of the Day". This, of course, is assuming I find the time each day to do this, lol. We buy lots of demos, close-outs and assorted deals and sometimes we buy demos from a few different shows and wind up with enough to offer crazy cheap deal on something awesome.

Todays deal is on a great combo:
Vortex Viper HS 4-16x50 LR FFP XLR Riflscope, #VHS-4313-LR with a Vortex Nomad 20-60x60 Spotting Scope in your choice of Straight or Angled for only $899.99

Want to extend your effective shooting range at distances where bullet drop and wind drift become critical? Take a look at the Viper HS LR riflescope. The LR stands for long range — and we mean it. This riflescope features an exposed target-style elevation turret built for dialing elevation at extended ranges. The capped windage turret maintains the scope’s sleek lines and prevent it from hanging up on clothing, rifle cases or pack scabbards.

Viper HS LR riflescopes feature an advanced optical system highlighted with a 4x zoom range for magnification versatility. A forgiving eye box with increased eye relief gets shooters on target quickly and easily. Built on an ultra-strong 30mm one-piece machined aluminum tube for increased windage and elevation travel and optimal adjustment.

NOTE: The Viper HS LR riflescopes feature a first focal plane reticle: all reticle subtensions remain constant throughout the entire zoom range for accurate use of reticle reference marks at any magnification.

Optical Features
First Focal Plane - Subtensions remain consistent throughout magnification range.
XD Lens Elements - Extra-low dispersion (XD) glass increases resolution and color fidelity, resulting in crisp, sharp images.
