Thinking about buying a gun from a friend.its a s&w 40cal The serial number I guess is 22-050614 all the numbers match on it. The only other thing it says is 40 s &w. Usp and kk

Can someone please tell me what this gun and the year

I'm a bit confused but I'm guessing it's a semi-auto chambered in 40 S&W. Any manufacturer name on it? The serial number doesn't look like a S&W serial number - the ones I've seen on newer guns start with three letters but I could be wrong. Does it have a logo that is a "KK" or an "HK"? HK could be Hechler & Koch and that would be a nice gun. Photos would help.

That' s not a KK that's an H&K (Heckler & Koch) USP chambered in 40 S&W. 40 S&W is the caliber of the ammo not the maker of the gun. H&K is a premium brand and your example is probably worth at least twice what you are paying, maybe three times the price.

Buy it. Buy it now.

(Here's a similar one going for $600 on GunBroker right now. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=352164984)

KK is the date code - the gun was manufactured in 1999.

Maybe I'm overly suspicious, but at that price I'd be thinking "if it seems too good to be true it probably is." Either your friend doesn't know what he has, there's something wrong with it, or he's a really good friend.

He doesnt know anything about guns it was his grandpas that got passed down when he died. Im buying it for sentimental reasons id never sell it.the fact that its worth something really doesnt mean much .his grandpa was a great man.my friend needs thr money and doesn't know anything about guns other than they go bang.if I ever had to sell it the gun would go back to him

You should tell your friend that it is worth more than he is asking. Would his Grampa want you to take advantage of your friend? If he still wants to sell it for that then you got yourself a really good deal but at least you would have tried to do the right thing.

If you knew how Long im been trying to get a gun from him you would understand.im not getting it for the value of the gun im getting it because I may never get another chance at getting one.I wouldn't be able to afford it if he knew.plus if it ever gets sold its going back to him for the same price
