Here is a comparison of scopes. Both the Weaver and Apache are from the 60's or 70's.

If I live long enough, my dream gun is a Henry BIG BOY Brass 44 Magnum Carbine. I would make it my Legacy gun for passing down to a son. I want the extra 'custom' receiver with name etc engraved.
God that is a beautiful rifle. I really admire the traditional approach to producing and marketing that Henry Firearms maintains.

Are the Henry brass rifles real brass or just brass plated? I've thought of getting the Golden Boy but I would not want to shoot it and I don't have any safe queens.

The receivers are listed as solid Brass. The fancy engraved center-fires...44 mag, 45 LC, and 38/357 mag run about $2000...so it will probably stay a dream for me. The Plain brass looks great too and sells for a lot less.

They make a fancy receiver for the 'Golden Boy' 22/22mag/17 also, You buy a plain version at your dealer then order the $150 personalized receiver from the factory. That would be cheaper, but I want a Big Boy more than a 22.
