Probably, and if you had the foot treadle, they went full auto!

You might try M1911.org. They have a LOT of info about 1911's. They even have a section about military 1911's. Some of the members of that forum are very knowledgeable, and will be able to help you.

Singer's are very rare, and depending upon condition, very expensive. I saw one on Gunbroker not too long ago with an asking price of $50,000. That was the asking price, and he didn't sell it, but it shows how highly regarded a Singer is to some people.

Oh, yeah, the first thing they will ask for is pics. I'd like to see it too.

I've had the privilege of handling a couple of genuine Singers before, but that's as close as I will ever come to owning one. Unfortunately there is a popular comment about them, and that goes, "Of the 500 Singers made perhaps fewer than 5,000 still exist". Counterfeiting Singers has been going on for so long that there really are many more fakes than real ones left out there. It's estimated that there are between 60-70 authentic ones still left, and almost all of those are in the hands of wealthy collectors who don't normally show them off. So whenever you hear "I came across a Singer the other day" always take it with a grain of salt.
