I think I got a little moist in the eyes there fellas. My grandfather, "Pap" Steele, bought a model 99 in 300 Savage in the early 1950's. He bought a box of shells and immediately put three rounds down range to sight in the rifle. He then shot a Pennsylvania buck once a year for the next seventeen years. When his box of ammo was gone, he gave that rifle to one of my cousins and I have heard nothing of it ever since. One of them probably traded it for a case of beer or something but I remember that rifle as a child and it was a fine rifle.
