My Walther PP-7.65mm, a query to Ulm on the serial number yielded that the weapon was manufactured in 1945, probably by slave labor. (what other kind is there?) The allies were knocking on the the door and some of the features normally included on the gun were omitted, such as the signal pin above the hammer as well as any markings other than the serial number.
She shoots pretty good, is an heirloom from my mother and its history is a mystery especially as my grandaddy and all my other relatives all fought in the Pacific theater.
As a collectable it's probably not worth a hell of a lot to anyone but me.
They did omit any frills on late war production.Still way ahead of what passes off today as "Walther."If you want to see desperate measures in firearms, take a look at some" last ditch" Japanese pistols and rifles. Be safe.
Ha, the japanese were never known for their guns, be it good times or other! BC Miroku is a factory for producing other country's guns and designs. That is a neat PP, I'm curious to place it next to prewar gun and look at the quality differences. That gun looks pretty nicely made from my house.
Her makeup is a little rough but the overall fit is very good and function is excellent. I would not hesitate to use this gun as a carry weapon, she is a .32 but I rather favor .32s over 380s anyhow.
I wouldnt try and shoot it very much just remember that the gun has right much age on it and over the years the metal in them get weak.
Usually it is the fireing pins that end up breaking.
Nice pistol! I've got a Mauser 1910-34 .32 ACP pistol that my grandfather brought back from Europe after World War II. I'll have to post some pics of it. I've only shot it a couple of times but it's very accurate and a pleasure to shoot. I was warned by a gunsmith to 1) not dry-fire it without using a snap cap and 2) keep it stored away with no compression on the firing pin spring. Otherwise, the firing pin might break.
I look at your pictures and can see where the Russians got the idea for the Makarov. I own one in 9mm and truely love the gun. It's a little heavy for a 9x19 but it was designed as a service pistol not of concealed carry pistol and shoots extremely well.
