Years ago a lot of single shot and side by side double barrel shotguns were made for hardware stores. If I am not mistaken a lot of these were made by Eastern Arms. Do a google search on Eastern Arms and see what you come up with.

Eastern would make these single shots and doubles and would put different names on them so there really is no way to find a history on them.

Wikipedia has this:

Western Arms Company: Trade name used by the Ithaca Gun Company on shotguns made for Montgomery Ward.

Maybe that will help to narrow the search.

I recently read information similar to Cordite's in one of the gun magazines I subscribe to. Basically made by Ithaca.

They're not rare or widely collected, but are pretty decently made guns. The nice thing about them is that they let you hunt/ shoot with a nice, well-made old gun without having to worry about lessening any collector value.

I'd guess that unless the gun is in exceptional condition or has some other unusual feature it's primary value is as a shooter.
