After a 2 month wait for the appoinment to turn in the paperwork to the sheriffs office..... Then a 3 month wait, to the day, for it to arrive in the mail my concealed handgun permit is finally here.
The wait was long but their office has been swamped since Obummer was re-elected. From what I understand is that their office is currently handling over 200 calls a day just to try and get appointments. There is currently a 5 month wait for that.
I'm just thankful I don't live in the Peoples Republic of California, or any of the other repressive states, so I have the opportunity to protect myself and my family.....
I have two carry weapons.... The LCR .357 and the SR9c..... What should I carry first? Decisions.... decisions....
I really feel for you folks who live in the restrictive states. The hoops you have to jump through. It takes less than a week to get a ccw here in NH. They give them out like candy.
Getting a permit is not that difficult here in El Paso county but the demand has been through the roof. They just can't keep up.... 200 calls a day just for appoiintments....
Congrats!!! It took me 9 months to get mine here in ny and that was before all the bullcrap started here. I can just imagine the wait now that application submissions have skyrocketed
Gonna call tomorrow to see about an appointment, took the class yesterday. I don't think I'll have to wait for an appointment, every time I've been to the sheriffs office (pretty regular here lately) the lady that processes CCH and Purchase permits (NC) is usually behind a vacant window.
Only part that sucks is she said the wait time is right at the 90 day mark right now. One county over the current wait time is 2 weeks.
If I didn't think it would somehow come back to bite me, I'd just see if I still have my old ID with my old address (parents house). Its in that 2 week county.
