Happy anniversary to Wisconsin's Concealed Carry Law !

Wisconsin's Concealed Carry Law went into effect one year ago today.

At this time last year my application was sitting in a mail box and I was two weeks away from being issued license number 52XX.

Seems like just yesterday.

I was going to say it did seem only a short time ago that the announcement was made on this forum...

Yeah, it was a long time coming, but we have ours. We seldom carry on account of two-legged critters, up here, but if you carry under your coat for protection against bears and such you still need the CC license to be legal.

The next step is getting a nationwide reciprocity law passed.

Let's hope it makes a second anniversary. November 6 will help determine that!

I'd like to see state permits become unnecessary, because of one, nationwide, carry permit. I doubt anytime real soon, but progress has been made in other areas of concealed carry. Like Wisconsin!

Yes, I'm happy. Applied 1 year ago today, received double-digit # tomorrow in mail.
BTW, Obama has no intention of restricting weapons, regardless of Fux news, Daily Caller or the deceased Briebart propoganda spews.

The quote explains why positive change takes a long time. Only been in WI a couple of years, but good years for change.

Remember that it took a change in state legislature and governor to get concealed carry in WI. 2nd to last state to figure it out is good but should have been done a long time ago.

To original topic, was a good past year. We mailed ours the first day last November and got it the same month.

And the law fully legitimized open carry, a big change.

Barring a complete socialist/U.N. takeover of the USA, I have a feeling CCW is here to stay in WI. Once these legislations are passed, it is very difficult to repeal them.

Unfortunately, the same usually goes for most of the asinine liberal policies.

Obama himself may not be able to restrict firearms (what his "intention" may be on guns is highly suspect), but he can work towards paving the way for somebody else who has both the will and the power to do so. That's my concern.

These type of things can get whittled down over a period time if we let them, and then one day, your freedom is gone.

We in Nj are waiting for ccw. It is impossible in Nj. Our state police chief and the attorney general has said evenif reciprocity is passed they will not recognize it until the law is upheld by the supreme cour. Note well if Romney wins and it is passed.

So we can presume that instead of watching FOX news, which has a more right-leaning perspective, you prefer ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, & CNN, all of whom are decidedly & demonstrably left-leaning? Since you've joined this forum, I'm guessing that you're into guns. Consider: When we see people on the national stage talking about "common sense gun control", which we all know to mean the eventual repealing of the 2nd Amendment..are any of these people what you could call "right-leaning conservative" types? The aforementioned liberal news networks are no less than the Teleprompter-in chief's PR department, and they HATE guns, period. If, as your membership on this forum implies, you enjoy owning guns, might I suggest you carefully consider whom you choose to align yourself with?
