Just started carrying my S&W Shield, 9mm. Awesome gun in a small package.

What do you carry and why. I'm looking for your primary carry piece.

Make
Model
Caliber
Where you carry it
Why you chose that specific firearm
Ruger P97 .45 cal. in a pancake strongside or jackass rig. Super reliable gun. I also carry a Ruger SR9C in a iwb at 4 o clock when I need more concealed carry. Again a super reliable gun

S&W
Airweight
38
Inside the pants or coat pocket.
Small, has some kick and revolvers rarely fail to fire (for long).

Make: Ruger
Model: LCR
Caliber: .38 +p (loaded with Federal 158 gr lswchp +p)
Where you carry it: Front pocket
Why you chose that specific firearm: Extremely light and easy to carry. I will carry a 9mm (SR9 or SR9c) if I feel like I need the extra firepower.

I picked this gun over others due to it's rugged construction and reliability. I prefer a revolver over a semi-auto.

excellent choice. I am a big fan of both that round and gun. I am not familiar with the carry rig but will look into it

SR9C- It is accurate and trustworthy. I preferred the size of the LC9 but just couldn't get used to the long trigger pull. If I am in a situation I trust myself with the SR9C as the trigger pull is about the same as the other pistols I own.

My usual carry weapon is my P95, most often open carried. I'll switch off to my GP100 once in a while.

Depending on how I'm dressed and where I'm going I'll CC my LCP.

Over many years, back before all the federal crap:

1911
45 ACP
small of the back
because it was an issue weapon

Makarov
9x18 Makarov
small of back; right hip pocket
because it was simple, small and disposal

Ruger MK I
.22 stinger or yellow jackets, 14 round ramline magazine
small of back
reliable, not as loud as a 45 ACP

until three weeks ago it was usually a BHP, sometimes SR1911 especially if open carry out in the boonies. But now it is usually this new one:
Make - Springfield
Model - XDs
Caliber - 45acp
Where you carry it - usually 3-4 o'clock IWB, OWB when just out and about so can cover good enough with shirt
Why you chose that specific firearm - it is small and it is 45, I have been happy with reliability of XD9 so have confidence in Springfield

I live in a liberal sink hole so I do not carry so I do not own a carry sized weapon. I am allowed to CCW to and from the range but attempts to do so with my SR1911 proved difficult. She is a big girl :-) I do have my eyes on the XDs though...

Glock 26
9mm subcompact
Remora IWB at 4 o clock, slightly forward canted.

Chose this weapon because of Glock's reliability in semi automatic pistols, mainly. Reliability and durability. I wanted a Glock 19 at first but went with the 26 because it's easier for me to conceal.

I just got a blued 6" barreled Ruger GP100 357 magnum for home defense (specifically, it is my nightstand gun), but have realized that I enjoy shooting that gun so much more than my Glocks, and I shoot it so much more accurately also, that I kinda wish it had a shorter barrel because I'd probably CCW it, even though I'd feel "better armed" with a semi automatic. Still not sure if I'm keeping the GP100 or trading it for one with a shorter barrel...I'm kinda attached to it already.

I do not have my FL CCW yet (it's going thru Tally now), but as practice until I do get it I carry the LC9 in a pocket holster in the front and left pretty much all the time, esp when I'm at the wild property we own behind us. I'm am considering keeping the SR9c IWB at hip when I do have the ticket.
