I love the option of an aluminum frame with a 4 in. bbl for the 1911 in 45. Don't even need a good gun belt! Thin, light, and 45 power! Sweet deal.

When I ran a business in NJ that had large cash business I caried a para p-14-45 stell frame in a milt sparks summer special inside the waistband holster or a galco royal guardsman. This gun wighed 40 ounces empty and over 50 ounces full loaded with 14 rounds of 45 acp. I carried 12-13 hours a day. I used a heavy 13/4 inch belt from galco or kraemer leather and purchased my pants 2 inches larger in the waist for a comfortable fit. I wore a sweater vest over it and was never spotted which as ccw except on you property or business is illegal.

I carry the gun at 3:00 o'clock and the spare magazine at 9:00 o'clock...

During the winter or for trips to rural areas, I substitute a Glock G20SF and two spare magazines for the 1911s.

I also have conceal-carried my Desert Eagle OWB for a full work day around law enforcement officers and no one noticed. I did it to win a bet with a LEO friend who said it couldn't be done. He didn't notice untill I showed him after work.
Wow, what a beautiful collection! How do you decide what to shoot at the range? You must have a big smile on your face every time you think of all your superb handguns.

Happy for you!

I cc my Springfield 1911 in an OWB during the cooler months when I can wear jackets and vests all day long. I prefer polo shirts in the summer so I stick with my SR9c in an IWB when wearing jeans during that time. When it's really hot and I wear shorts, I cc a Sig P238 in a pocket holster.

I carry my full size Colt IWB at 4 o'clock in a Don Hume 715M. I glued a small piece if leather to the top on the inside to keep the hammer from gouging my love handle. Not my all the time carry gun but when I do carry it I find this most comfortable way.

Thanks for the ideas ox92184 and guardjim!

I'm really considering on CCW my SR1911, at least give a try for this winter season...still looking for some good leather to carry it in which will most likely be IWB.

A good belt and a pancake holster are what I'd recommend. Until my birdshead Vaquero came along, I carried a 1911 practically all of the time; first a Norinco and finally a stainless Springfield. I used a cheap belt which made it a little more difficult. After getting a Beltman horsehide belt, it was much more comfortable. The holster that I still use is a H721 O.T. [H721 O.T.] They also sell the same thing with a retention strap as the H721. When I go to a large city, the 1911 is back at my side as primary. I think you'll like carry your SR1911 once you get used to it.

Use a Galco KingTuck with my 1911s, easiest one to carry is my old Colt LW Commander 45 acp.

A 1911 is my primary CCW. I carry mine in a Milt Sparks VMII along with a Sparks belt. As mentioned earlier, a good belt is required. The Sparks products aren't cheap, but either is my life. If I want to carry something super light, I carry a G26 and a G30 is my truck gun. Both of these are also in Sparks VMII IWB holsters.

I carry mine at about the 4 position also. Any IWB holster.

Remember, the barrel is in your pants, so the barrel length is not the problem for concealing it, the grips are what you need to hide. So dress for it.

When I carry a 1911 I use a Milt Sparks 55bn or a versi-max. I also find that for me I can carry a 5" as well as a 4.25" but a bobbed grip does make a difference. Weight is the only downside.
