I'm in Mooresville and I was the same way. When the heck was it ever gonna get here. But 8 weeks to the day that I turned my info in I got the call. Of course that was 10 months ago but it seems like yesterday. Congrats by the way.

It took the FBI forever to approve me. It seems I fit their "serial killer" profile - white, middle aged, factory worker, keeps to myself, no pets, likes guns, etc, etc. I guess they thought I was fix'n to blow up or something. They even went and talked to my neighbors. That's been over a decade ago, during which time I went through a messy divorce, and I'm still standing (and carrying). So much for their profile.
From the time I mailed the application to the time I got the letter to go to the drivers station was about six months. That was a loooong time.

Mine just came in the mail today. Start to finish, it took 13 days. Way to go VA!
I made and laminated a few copies just in case.

Congrats on that. I am still waiting to go for my class, just because work slowed down again, and the money for the class and then license fees have been needed elsewhere for bills. I am putting away a bit each payday for it though. The classes here average around 75 bucks, but the fees from the state are about twice that. I will probably take the class within the month, then wait a while to submit it and pay the fees. I dont know for sure, but I imagine there is a grace period.

Another 40 min drive to get my picture taken, and then they printed it on the spot. I was angry. 2 hours total drive time and 3 weeks still isn't as bad as what you had!
Then I went for my non-resident PA. SUPER SUPER smooth, dropped off my app, got my picture taken. Nice lady said 3 weeks. It was in my mailbox 3 weeks to the day.
Anyways, congrats! | I am in Ohio (Wayne County) Thats terrible what you went through. I took my class (took one weekend) then dropped off my certificate at 9:00am Monday morning and fingerprinted me and took picture right on the spot only took 10 minutes. Picked up my pictured plastic license 9:00 the next morning. 24 turn around. Mine was fast and easy, what county jerked you around like that?

First, welcome from central Texas, hope you enjoy the forums. Second, welcome to the CCW family. The wait for that 'original' almost always seems to be a pins and needles period for a lot of people only to be turned into a moment of joy when they finally have that plastic in hand.
