I'm very pleased with the Lc9, it is very well made and comfortable to shoot, but the Sr9c is also a very slim and compact pistol as well. My wife now has my Lc9 and I intend to purchase an SR9c to replace it due to my experence with my SR9.

To the OP, I love the SR9c. It shoots great and is incredibly comfortable for a compact gun (compared to my Glock 27). Its slim and accurate and a ton of fun to shoot. | I just checked the Ruger website, for the SR9c, it says 17+1 and 10+1 on other model numbers. I am shocked it can even hold 17. Does it come with 2 mags of different sizes, or is the 10 for the state of MA, or is the 17 incorrect? If true, I guess I don't need my big honking Beretta 92A1 to achieve 17 shots w/o reloading!!!

The other model (for states like California) comes with two 10 round magazines. I like having both. The 10 round magazine is great for CCW with the 17 round as a backup. Also, the 17 round magazines are great for the range. |

I looked at both the LC9 and the SR9c before I bought. The LC9 just didn't fit quite right. The SR9c fit better and after 500 rounds, I have yet to have a problem. I carry it every day with no problems.

For a Ruger, I would recommend the SR9c. Great little gun. Great trigger, accurate and a nice light weight package. Besides the 10 round mag it comes with a larger one, too. I believe it holds 17. The Ruger website will give you all the specs. The LC9 is much smaller but it's a totally different design with drastically different shooting characteristics.
Try them both if you can before you buy.

I have an SR40C, an M&P9C and a Nano. I'm left handed and didn't like the fact the controls on the LC9 was rh only. The SR is ambi except the slide release. The M&P has an ambi slide release, reversible mag release and no safety. The Nano has no external controls, although it locks back on the last shot fired and a reversible mag release.
I really love all 3 of these pistols and can make a case for all of them, or their cousins. More important than what I think though is what you think; shoot them if you can. Borrow, rent, etc. and then get the one that "feels" good to you. BTW - Beretta has a "test drive a Beretta" promotion currently. Not promoting them over Ruger, or anything else - just throwing it out FYI. Deprecated Browser Error
BTW... best trigger - SR40C (one of the best triggers I've ever used), most concealable and built like a tank - Nano, largest capacity (12+1) in a compact size plus I really like the 3 back strap options and use the small one - M&P9C, +1 for the Remora holster too.

If you're going for pure capacity, I don't think the XDm9c 3.8" has been equaled or topped. 19+1 with the bigger mag. I think the smaller mag holds 13. I've got one with Trijicon HD night sights. It's very similar to the SR9c in size, extremely accurate, very little recoil, great trigger and eats whatever I feed it. Never had a jam or misfire. But the SR9c carries better, IMO.

Thanks for the input. After reading and shopping I have decided on walther ppq. Statistics might say 4 rounds, but i am happy with double stack. I read about lc9 being hit or miss. P22 was my first handgun. The ppq has great reviews(compared to being as good if not better than 1911) and I love the quick defense trigger. 5.5# pull and .1" reset. It is bigger than some of the guns you guys have suggested, but I plan on shoulder carry when possible.
