I carry with my kids - and have since they were babes in arms. I don't have an grandchildren, but my kids have been around firearms all their lives, so I don't anticipate any "issues" with them. Their spouses may be a different matter, but I'm confident in my ability to convince them (or ignore them).

I only started carrying because of having kids. I can relate to trying to figure out how to carry when the first kid was toddler size. I use appendix carry because I feel the gun is more secure

Why would you not carry regardless of who is with you? A bad guy can come into your life at any time, not just when your kids aren't with you.

I carry my gun to protect my family. If I leave it at home when I go out with the kids, How will that protect them? If you are uncomfortable about carrying around kids, I think you may just need a little more time carrying to get used to it. It will become natural after a while.

Well, since my Kids are all in their 40's, I do carry "WITH THEM", but then I always did, 24/7. Also carry with the Grandkids & Great Grandkids now.
Unless the occaision arises that calls for any action, they will never know.
That's why it is called "Concealed Carry".

I carry because of my daughter. I'm 57, she's 10. I don't have the strength I used to, nor could I chase anyone who snatched her. At least not for long. She's seen daddy strap one on every day of her life.
I'm curious about what aspect of carrying concerns you in this case. That the child knows you have a gun, or that he/she might try to monkey with it while you're carrying...? I'd say let them know. It normalizes the behavior for them. At some point, it will be weird for her to have a friend who's parent doesn't carry. ; )

24/7............I CCW to protect my "family". Wouldn't do me any good if I was out with my kids and left my means of protection at home.

Haven't read anything about this and would like to know what other CCW carriers practice. | My kids are grown, but now I've got a one year old grandson. Protecting him is part of the reason I carry. It's a personal choice, and if you're not comfortable, then by all means don't. But for me, in addition to being prepared to protect my family, I also want to set an example for my grandson to stand up for his constitutional rights as well as to never be a victim.

Yes, always (where legal).
I've got a 7 year old grand daughter that knows I carry. She's only ever asked why once and I told her it was to protect her and grammy. I did tell her that it was not to be discussed outside of the immediate family. Other words her friends and teachers don't need to know about it and that she is never to mention it in a public place. Most of the time she forgets all about me carrying.
She's been shooting BB guns and airsoft occasionally with me. She's a good shot but still needs work on the safety aspect.

Yes, where legal. He's small enough right now not to know anyways. But when he does understand, I don't want him to think that its unusual when I do.

I Am armed 24/7/365 because you can't choose when someone will force you to defend yourself or your family.

What has being with young adults or anyone for that matter have to do with you being
armed. If you are carrying concealed they shouldn't even know you have a weapon.
When you carry it's your responsibility, You own every bullet that comes out of that weapon ( for ever )
Do you think it's a matter of you might screw up ?
Do you think they may disarm you and hurt themselves ?
You may drop the weapon and they may pick it up and hurt them self.
WHAT is the problem ?
All the reasons why we carry 24/7 are not helping here, I agree with all the reasons given
Why you should be armed.
If you don't feel comfortable then #1 don't do it.
# 2 fix the problem,
Why I carry is not going help you,
