Any location that is not specifically defined in federal (i.e. Post Office, etc.) or state (i.e. bar, etc.) statutes, my pistol remains in my pocket.
Should I ever be "discovered" (i.e. entering Disney World) I would courteously comply with any request to leave and place my pistol in my vehicle before returning.
Now, open carry, not permitted in my state, thus for me, is not an issue, I think opens up a whole new and different discussion.

heh, today when i was at the mall, i walked into the security office and asked if their sign "no weapons on this premises" pertains to CCW holder with permits.
| Take a walk around the mall and look at all entrances that are accessable by shoppers- every entrance must be posted. If there is a 'Boston Store' in your mall, you are good to go- they don't post their entrances.
I personally believe in "don't ask- don't tell."

What part of 'Concealed' do you not understand?
Concealed is Concealed.
Out of sight, out of mind.
But, in my state, we have OC. So, if I'm 'printing', no big deal.

I recently received my CCW license here in Wisconsin, when this question came up in class our instructor (local police station officer) stated that even though the sign is posted he still would carry, if they (the store) see's your weapon and asks you to leave you must leave or face a fine. He stated like above its concealed no one will see it.

If your gun is hidden, i doubt you'll ever have a problem. Like someone else said, what they dont know wont hurt them. Just don't go asking workers in the store are guns allowed. Mind ya business go shopping and leave.

It is real sad to see all the people that say they carry even if posted.
Have they no respect for property rights? They expect anybody to respect their right but to hell with other peoples rights.
What has happened to cause so many to forget how they were (or should have been) raised? I know I was raised to respect the rights of others.

| Its on the onus of the 'property owner' to tell you to leave their store if they find you are carrying- carrying in a posted building is still following the rule of the law if not the spirit of the law.
OTOH, they have no such obligation to protect you from criminals while on their premises.

I have card I leave with the manager of businesses with a gun buster sign on the door. I have added my name and phone number to the one I am posting. I have managed to get a few gun buster signs removed in my area with a polite and tactful conversation with the manager. |

The "spirit of the law" would be don't carry in that establishment...and if you don't appreciate it, don't shop there!
All this "I just say what sign?" nonsense is just asinine and disrespectful and rude. Playing dumb doesn't make you clever.

It is YOU that should respect the rights of the property owner, regardless if it is post LEGALLY.
If you know that the property owner, doesn't matter how you know, does not want your gun there then you should respect that.
What is so hard to understand?
Either you do the right thing or you do the wrong thing. Integrity is doing the right thing, even when nobody is looking. |

Best practice is to stay out of places that have no guns allowed signs, i am sure that you are as safe there as anywhere else unless some nut job picks that safe zone to do a shooting spree. The main problem is when going to or leaving those places criminals think you are unarmed and that makes you a prime target, better to go where a criminal is unsure because he will choose the safer gun free parking lot and avoiding a shootout is better than winning in a shootout every time. Criminals also are more likely to find guns in cars at store with signs that ban guns so people that frequent those places should be willing to accept the added problems and dangers.
