Nice to see I'm not the only 357 carrier. Most of the people in my area carry 9mm and look at me like I'm some kinda nut when they hear what I carry.

Your not, I'm now carrying it but I didn't vote on this poll because it's not my favorite caliber. And my intentions when I bought my Ruger LCR .357 magnum was to only shoot .38 specials out of because I only bought it for the few ounces more of weight compared to the .38 special only version of which I once own but found it very uncomfortable to shoot.

That was a few years ago and since that time I've learn how to handle recoil having shoot some real a-- kickers. But less anyone ever try to fool you, .357 magnum from an LCR is a hand cannon and not for everyone.

And if Ruger ever does a .45 LC or even a .45 a.c.p. snubbie hammer-less in the SP101 series well than, by-by .357 magnum.

I carry a .40 S&W in a SR40c,although the .44 mag is my favorite handgun caliber, just not too many easily concealed guns in that caliber .

I just got a 3" GP100 in .357 Magnum and that will be my off duty carry gun as soon as I get it back from the gunsmith. It's a little easier to carry than the 4" N-Frame and I like having ammo "interchangeability" with my 38 Special BUG.

Have a GP100 3" now and had the same idea that I should get a BUG in the same caliber for ammo interchageabilty.

Just renewed my CCW

Just renewed my "License to carry concealed weapon" here in the "peoples republic". Changed my listed weapons, 3 revolvers,2 autos.I carry a LC9 80% of the time, but added the GP100(357) and SP101(327 fed) for trips into the National Forest. Even put on the Bearcat for fishing in snake country, 22 LR is plenty for that job.Added my CZ75B(40 S&W)for winterseason.

I voted .44 Special so's I could see all the results, and because that's what my beside piece is chambered for.

Realistically, if I were carrying it would almost certainly be a 9mm because Glock26.

I carry 9mm about 70% of the time, usually in my Shield w/ 8+1 of HST 124 gr based on test from 3" barrels in denim/ballistic gel. Occasionally, in winter when it's cold here in TX I'll carry my CZC PCR Pro-tek I w/ 15 rds of the HST.

In the summer when I'm out & about in a pair of light shorts & t-shirt, etc. I'll carry my Sig P238 in a pocket holster w/ 95gr fiochi JHPs. Thinking about changing this one out to a LCP-II so I don't have to think about clicking off that safety.

In the process of replacing my LCRX in .38 with a Ruger american compact in 9mm. When it is cold out, I occasionally give the ole SR1911 some love.
Nothing wrong with the LCR, but arthritis is making it a little rough to shoot in double action

RAP1984 is an unknown quantity at this point
I have a 9mm single stack and a full frame 9mm. If that's not getting the job done then I don't know what will

I've thought about this for awhile thinking caliber size 45 for knock down power but then I came across an article on "policeone.com" I think it was? Where an officer carried 45 rounds daily but after his encounter with a determined bank robber bad guy he now carries 145 rounds very interesting article, so I now go with 9mm with large capacity magazines, realized I'm very old man and can not fight like when I was younger, I'm now disabled and would never be able to run away to save my life or my wife's life, just a fact of life! I have a Glock 17 which I love, but now I'm looking at the Ruger sr9c for every day carry, the look of it just got to me, so streamed lined and finished look with the mags attached! Oh I failed to mention that Officer was using a 45 caliber and hit the bad guy several times! Read the article if you can find it you'll be shocked at the real life lesson! God Bless have a good day!
