Just got my wife the LCR 38 special with Crimson Trace grips. She plans to carry it in her purse, and keep it in the nite stand drawer at home. I have an old Ruger Security 6 police revolver .357 that I have fired many .38 rounds with for practice, so the practice ammo will be in common. I can't imagine that with Hornady Critical Defense plus P rounds in the cylinder, that this old police standard caliber would not suffice. Am I right?
Thanks,
Rick

For me it's all about concealment. We have two or three months of the year when you can wear something as heavy as a hoodie, then it's shorts and T-shirts. I switch between my Sig P239 and P238. If I lived up North I'd probably carry a 1911 Govt because you only have three months of heat. No matter what you're carrying you need to go to the range as often as you can. Even if you're carrying 45 ACP you still need to be able to hit what you're pointing at. If you're carrying 45 ACP with the false sense of security that wherever you hit the BG he'll go down, then you're worse off than the guy carrying 22LR that can hit a gnat's butt at 50 paces. JMHO

Have the LCR 357 but looking at the SR9c as another carry choice.

New to the forum, but I purchased a SR40C for my first CCW. I had shot my fathers Taurus 24/7 40 S&W, and liked how smooth it fired. It only took the first round with the SR to decide it was for me.

I voted 380. I have only had mine a few days, but it has not been out of reach since I took possession.
I am sitting in my office chair right now - my gun is in my pocket. Where's yours?
I love the 45 Colt with Keith bullets for defense and it is my woods open carry pistol, but it or the 41 Mag in the truck do me NO good unless I am sitting in the truck.

The Marine Corp recently let a multi-million dollar contract to Colt to start making the 1911 again. Seems like that 9 mickey mouse round is not stopping the ragheads when they are hopped up on dope. If it's good enough for the Marines, it's good enough for this old dog face. S&W 325PD and Taurus PT-1911.

Since I'm a revolver guy I chose what I use; .38 special ( not .357 because of potential of over penetration).
