None. Not going to take on an army with just myself and a pistol. Plus, I figure if I can't end the threat with 8 shots, he's a better man than I.

The overwhelming majority of civilians licensed to carry a concealed weapon never take it out of the holster in fear.
Of those who do, the vast majority holster it again without having fired a shot.
Most SD shootings involving civilians never progress beyond one or two rounds.
Police, on average, fire fewer than four rounds in an armed encounter when by themselves.
Unless you are hanging out on street corners in South Central, chances are what fits in your gun will be sufficient.

When I was in a place where a firefight was inevitable I carried as many spare magazines as possible (also sort of acts as body armor) As a civilian, I would not go to a place where all that ammo might be needed.

I'm not trying to arrest armed fugitives, I'm just trying to make it home.
One speedloader for my sp101.

Usually 2 speed loaders or mags depending on the gun. LCP mags are small and I hardly notice them in a pocket. I'm under no illusions of doing some Mach 1 mag change though.

With my SR9c I carry 10 in the short mag in the gun. I also carry the spare mag (17 rounder with about 10 -12 rounds in it).
If I'm carrying my little .380, then just 6 in the mag in the gun and a spare mag with 6.
