We won a couple today.

Oregon gun owners won a couple of victories today. There were two bills before the state legislature regarding gun rights.

One was promoting the public airing of concealed carry licensee private information and the other was an attempt to ban all weapons from public school grounds. This would have included concealed carry license holders.

Both of these measures were defeated. Hooray for us! A similar measure that would have banned guns from all state public buildings never made it to the floor.

The Oregon Firearms Federation (among others) was helpful with defeating these proposals.

Now all we have to do is oust the state legislators who keep bringing this stuff up for vote. (Ginny Burdick - Are you listening?)

For now though, we'll take the victory.

Now Oregon just needs to change the law to accept Washington state carry permits, like Washington does Oregons, might go to the Oregon coast more often If I can carry.

I think they are working on some type of reciprocal license agreement right now with Washington. It doesn't make much sense not to recognize each other's concealed carry permits. Oregon has been the culprit on this issue. I don't know which legislators have been responsible for doing it this way.

Right now I have to carry both an Oregon CHL and a Washington license.

I thought the Oregon licence was good in Washington? maybe I'am wrong? they really need to get it worked out and make it happen.

The national carry law will take care of the whole problem if they ever get it passed, I don't know what's holding it up now back in DC?

The house passed the privacy bill also, so it just needs to be signed by the Blue jean Dr Gov. Kitz. However, it was a very week bill after being gutted and stuffed and re-written by the Prozack man, it was retroactive however to deal with current requests.
